30/07/2007 - Red alert - Servers closing down

The TCE and ETPub servers have been closed today. The Clan NQ, currently running JayMod, will be closed on August, 8th.

Reason is, EscapedTurkey raised their prices. After disallowing the NoQuarter mod, forcing us to move the NoQuarter server back to GameServers, they also doubled their prices. You can read the announcement on their forums here: .

EscapedTurkey host is clearly gone nuts, they (or "he", 'cause I guess the whole biz is ran by only one person) are probably realizing, they're runnin a business bigger than them, with inadequate human and financial resources.
And therefore they're giving up in a great hurry, in order to salvage whatever possible.

With these new prices, renting at EscapedTurkey is no longer a bargain, so I'm closing down all the accounts there. The ETPub and TCE server are already down, the Clan NQ will follow on August, 8th.

So we're going to remain with only one server (NoQuarter). I'm inclined to rent another server at GameServers, and restore the ClanNQ on it. On the other hand, TCE, Jay and ETPub are definitely gone, at least for now. I'm sorry about that, especially towards our TCE-only players, but it's not our fault.

The NoQuarter server is not at risk, so I encourage everyone to play there. We'll keep you informed about the developments of this situation.
