23/07/2007 - NQ dies?

A major trouble is coming. I just got an email message from the EscapedTurkey host, which is currently hosting all 3 our servers.

They aren't longer allowing the NQ mod anymore on their servers. Reason is, it consumes too many resources, being far less efficient than other mods such as etpub, jay, etc.

I suspect that those issue they are describing are mostly due to the newer versions of NQ. The older 1.0.4 version has been running for at least 1 year on many servers, and they never moaned about that.

Anyhow, we got a problem.
PDP has currently 2 servers running on NQ, Clan NQ and NoQuarter. We could move one server back to GameServers or to another host, but GameServers is far more expensive than EscapedTurkey; so PDP is probably going to have only one NoQuarter server, or even no NQ servers at all.
